Tarot Meanings

Whether she existed as a historical person remains debated. Yet for nearly seven centuries, the story of a woman who rose through the Church disguised as a man to become Pope captured the imagination of Europe.

This card asks: Are you choosing from truth… or from hunger?

One of the biggest shifts in tarot happens when you stop reading cards individually and begin reading the relationships between them. A card’s meaning does not remain static. It changes depending on: where it appears, what surrounds it, and how its elemental energy interacts with the spread itself. This is where tarot begins to behave less like a collection of definitions and more like a symbolic ecosystem.

The Luminous Self Spread was created as an invitation to slow down long enough to truly listen. Not to the cards, but to yourself.

One of my favourite things about tarot is that the smallest details often open the largest doors. A recent question on LinkedIn asked what the four symbols hidden in the corners of the Fool card represented.

The Hierophant represents spiritual guidance, sacred knowledge, tradition, and the transmission of wisdom from one generation to the next. Through Rumi, this archetype shifts away from rigid dogma and toward direct spiritual experience. Rather than acting as a gatekeeper of divine truth, Rumi becomes a bridge between the earthly and the transcendent, translating mystical insight into language the human heart can understand.

Within Curious Tales Tarot, Osiris was intentionally chosen to reflect and complement Demeter as The Empress. Both deities are deeply tied to agriculture, fertility, renewal, and the spread of civilization through cultivation and sacred knowledge. Where Demeter represents the fecundity and abundance from which civilization grows, Osiris represents the structure, continuity, and governance required to preserve it.

The Empress represents fertility, growth, creativity, and the sustaining power of the natural world. Through Demeter, she becomes more than a symbol of beauty or desire; she embodies fecundity itself: the force that ripens grain, nourishes life, and restores barren land.

On synchronicity, submerged cities, and why The High Priestess arrived exactly when she did.

The High Priestess - The Lady of the Lake “What is hidden beneath the water still shapes the world above.”

The Magician stands at the threshold between thought and creation. Like Faust in his candlelit tower, The Magician burns with the hunger to know, to master, to transform.

A curious soul stands at the edge of the impossible. This Fool is not reckless in the traditional sense. She is credulous, enchanted, and willing to follow wonder wherever it leads. Like Alice chasing the White Rabbit, this card appears when fascination overcomes caution.
